Argentine superstar Lionel Messi has taken part in a group training session for Barcelona as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.
The 29-year-old joined the team for first part of the group training before moving on to the sidelines for individual exercises in the second, the Daily Mail reported on Wednesday.
Messi was ruled out of Argentina’s World Cup qualifier against Venezuela, in which La Albiceleste came from behind to salvage a 2-2 draw, after suffering a hamstring injury.
He wrote on his Facebook on Tuesday: “Everything is fine, I have to slow things down as I recover with physio, but it’s nothing to worry about. Thanks to you all for your support.”
While Messi’s participation against Basque team Alaves next Saturday remains a doubt, his Barca teammates Andres Iniesta and Andre Gomes, too, are nursing injuries.
Wednesday’s training session also saw the return Croatia’s Ivan Rakitic.
