Police recovered the bullet-hit bodies of three young men, who were reportedly abducted by unknown men on Saturday night, from a mango orchard at Raniganj Kalabari in Ghoraghat upazila yesterday morning, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Sabbir, 25, son of Shonamia, Abdullah, 25, son of Lutfur Rahman and Sohel, 26, son of Kalu Mia, all hailing from Sadar upazila of Natore district.
Israfil Alam, officer-in-charge of Ghoraghat Police Station, said locals spotted the bodies and then informed police. Later, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Hamidul Alam, superintendent of Dinajpur Police, said some miscreants allegedly picked the three young men up in a microbus on Saturday and went to an unknown destination. A general diary was lodged with Natore Police Station in this connection, he said.
Police suspected that miscreants might have killed them over previous enmity, said the SP. Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased confirmed the identities of the trio. Rukhsana Bewa, mother of Sabbir, said some people identifying themselves as Rab members picked his son up on December 3. However, Natore District unit Juba League at a press briefing claimed that the three young men were Juba League activists. They also demanded exemplary punishment of those involved in the killing.
